An Archive of Living Inks

In 2021, I began researching natural inks for screen printing, a journey shared as Color is Alive through an exhibition and an independent publication. By 2023, The Ink Project expanded this exploration to connect the craft of organic ink-making with the innovation of digital printing. At the heart of this work lies a rediscovery of color as living matter—fragile yet powerful, mirroring our own existence. If inks are alive, they can transform and regenerate. Embracing this philosophy offers an ecological alternative in a world where conventional inks are pollutants to both us and our environment.

Here, you will find an archive of colors I’ve developed over years of botanical curiosity and artistic research, organized by their formulations and applications in screen printing and pen plotting. These inks, made from plants, algae, soil, metals, waste materials, and urban remnants, are gathered with a focus on the local environment.

A selection of my recipes and experiments for screen printing ink was shared as a independent publication.

Some of my inks are included in materials archives , such as Future Materials Bank and Materials Design Map.
