FOAM: The Listening Body

(2018)

FOAM: The Listening Body is a one-on-one performance inviting the audience to engage through sight, touch, and listening, exploring the listener's body and its role in contemporary society. Inspired by the metaphor of living as bubbles in foam—touching yet separated by external membranes—the project reimagines the performer's costume as a hidden stage.

Constructed with memory foam and dancer-grade lycra, the costume becomes an organic, bodily extension. It invites closeness while maintaining boundaries, creating a space for interaction and introspection. Audiences are encouraged to embrace the ambiguity of connection: to reach, hug, sink, or stretch, revealing an interplay of isolation and intrusion.
