Sap Green

This project focuses on the creation of a vibrant natural green ink using pigments sourced from buckthorn berries (Rhamnus petiolaris) and indigo leaves (Indigofera tinctorum). The process began with foraging and crafting the ink, followed by mordanting linen-cotton fabric to ensure color adhesion. The ink was specifically formulated with natural binders for durability on textiles, and once applied, the fabric was hand-sewn into a limited series of cushion covers.

This project emphasizes the materiality of the inks and their sustainable, eco-friendly application, highlighting the beauty and potential of plant-based pigments in design.
