Avocado
A limited edition print, where Greta Desirèe Facchinato explored natural ink-making for screen printing on textile. The piece was screen printed with plant-based ink made from avocado stones (Persea Americana) on 3x2m organic cotton fabric. The project extended into a series of hand-printed, hand-sewn cushion covers, showcasing the potential of bio-based pigments in both art and functional design. The ink’s hues offer a sustainable alternative to synthetic pigments.
The project is part of Color is Alive, with a limited set of screenprints inspired by these unique, living materials.
